About Us: We are an innovative outdoor provision dedicated to supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This September we are opening a full time provision in addition to our part time Alternative Provisions. Our setting offers a low-demand, child-led learning environment where pupils are empowered to take control of their own educational journeys. Set in a natural outdoor environment, we support learners aged 5–16 through a trauma-informed, holistic approach.
The Role: We are looking for a passionate and flexible teacher to join us three days a week as we establish and shape our new curriculum. Based on our very successful Alternative Provisions, this is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a setting that prioritises well-being, creativity, and individual growth over rigid structure and assessment.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate child-led learning experiences that are responsive to pupils' interests and needs
Work collaboratively with our SENCO/Head of curriculum to co-create a flexible, evolving curriculum tailored to SEMH learners
Build trusting, positive relationships with pupils, using a trauma-informed approach
Promote emotional resilience and self-regulation through daily routines and outdoor activities led by our Forest School Team
Monitor and support the progress of individual learners using informal, personalised methods
Contribute to the overall development of the provision as a nurturing and inclusive environment
About You:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent experience
Experience working with SEMH or neurodiverse pupils is highly desirable
Comfortable working in an outdoor setting in all weather conditions
Creative, adaptable, and empathetic in your approach to education
Committed to promoting a low-demand, learner-centred environment
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Willingness to adapt and grow with us
What We Offer:
A chance to shape a brand-new curriculum and learning environment
A small, supportive team passionate about proper inclusive education
Ongoing training in trauma-informed and outdoor learning approaches
A refreshing alternative to traditional classroom settings
