We are Forest Schooling UK

We are not a private school or a club. We are a non-profit (CIC) organisation with a social conscience.

We are based at St. John’s Primary School, Kingston upon Thames, and all of the children who attend here have time with us. Some see us once or twice a term. Others spend more time with us. We also welcome referrals from Primary schools in Kingston & Richmond, and the surrounding area, to our Alternative Provision for children with an identified need of SEMH. This includes children that don’t currently hold an EHCP

We understand that all children are different and we celebrate that in all that we do. It doesn’t matter if they have a diagnosis, a label or are just happy wanting to be themselves. We believe all children need a safe space to explore their emotions and work out how they feel about the world. Sometimes this can’t happen in a traditional classroom setting.

Our urban woodland and allotment allows primary aged children that safe space to explore what makes them tick and how they feel about all of their emotions. Our experienced staff use the six guiding principles of forest school to allow the children time to discover themselves.

When I'm in a classroom it feels like a cage, when I'm in the woods I feel free...
