Grant award for our rain capture project

We use a lot of water on our allotment and the children love to walk around watering all the plants and vegetables. We are keen to not use tap water and already have three large water butts around the site to collect rainwater.

We have been awarded over £1000 from the Whole Kids Foundation to upgrade and add to our capture of rain water from our three buildings. We will be purchasing a very large 1000L water tank to collect all the rainwater from the greenhouse roof which will include a solar powered pump and feed system to automatically water the plants inside during the weekends and holidays. We will be adding larger metal water butts to the remaining buildings and will be buying some new metal watering cans for the children to use.

We are delighted to have been awarded the grant from the foundation who said: "Many congratulations and thank you for your efforts in writing an impressive bid"
